Tutoring Services

All of our courses are led by highly qualified instructors who have years of experience in tutoring. Our tutors cover a range of subjects in grades pre-K to 12, including math, reading, writing, science, history/social studies, foreign language, computer programming, test preparation, study skills, and applying to colleges and elite schools.  Most of the academic tutoring is conducting by Dr. John Leddo, an educational psychologist with a PhD from Yale University and over 30 years of professional experience.  Because of Dr. Leddo’s experience as an educational psychologist, MyEdMaster uses scientifically-validated teaching methods.  These methods have been scientifically-shown to improve student performance and many of these techniques have been published in scientific journals.

MyEdMaster offers three formats for instruction:  personalized tutoring in a small group setting, classroom style instruction, and one-to-one online instruction so that students may receive tutoring at times convenient to them and without leaving their homes.  We are open seven days a week and are very flexible in our times and programs.  Your child can even switch formats based on her or his needs and preferences. Personalized and online tutoring can be for as much time per session as you like.  Your child can have a one-hour session, one and one half-hour session, two-hour session or longer.  We know that different kids need different amounts of time to learn, so we don’t set fixed amounts of time for our classes.  We also know that people’s schedules can change.  For our personalized tutoring and online sessions, you can decide when to bring and pick up your child.

MyEdMaster personalized and online tutoring is made even more attractive by its low tutoring rate of only $32 per hour, far less than C2 Education’s $70 per hour or Sylvan Learning’s rates that start at $49 per hour and are usually higher. We offer:

The highest quality tutor, a Yale PhD with more than 30 years of professional experience
Scientifically-validated teaching methods that have been published in scientific journals
Much lower tutoring rates ($32 per hour)

When looking for tutors, for your child ask the following:

What are the specific qualifications of the person who will be tutoring my child?
Will my child get the same tutor each time?
Have the tutoring methods the tutor uses been scientifically-validated and published in scientific journals?
How much do you charge per hour?
Can I bring my child for as long as he or she needs or is there a set amount of time for the class? What if my child is done studying early or needs more time?
